Paul Niemisto, St. Olaf Professor and, perhaps more importantly, organizer of the Vintage Band Festival, has announced a new website. Of particular interest to me was the fact that the organizers already have NINE bands from around the world that will be coming to Northfield this summer.

The festival will be held July 27 to July 31 as part of the International Wind Music History Conference at St. Olaf College. The festival will also be part of Northfield’s annual Artswirl event, which has grown to over two weeks of celebrating the arts in our community.

By the way, the picture above is of (I think) the Western Oz Band. I’m not sure whether or not they’ve confirmed their participation in the festival…something about the lead saxophone player having an accident with a house…
