Tracy Davis, owner of Donegal Carpets and member of the EDA, posted a blog entry discussing the Liquor Store’s expansion or relocation options. As is always the case with Tracy, it’s rich with information, including a link to the consultant’s report.
She reveals that the consultant recommends moving the store to Highway 3, based on projections of increased profitability. She suggests that there are other factors that should guide the community’s decision-making about the liquor store and invites public input through the Issues List for the EDA discussion of the topic on Thursday morning (7:30 am Council Chambers at City Hall).
The NDDC has long identified the liquor store, along with the post office and the public library, as one of downtown’s economic anchors. We encourage you to participate in the on-line discussion and/or attend the EDA meeting.
