There’s quite a bit of music in town this weekend. Much of the talent is local. Somehow, the thought of it all gives me a feeling of Spring, at least in my step.
Friday, April 10th Laura MacKenzie and Daithi Sproule perform at the Carleton College Concert Hall, there’s Karaoke at the Rueb-N-Stein, 503 Division Street, the KGB Band at the Contented Cow, 302B Division Street, and slide-guitar-strutting bluesman Jeff Ray at the Tavern Lounge, riverside of the Archer House, 212 Division Street.
Saturday, April 11th, there’s DJ Music at the Rueb-N-Stein, Mankato’s Fish Frye is at the Contented Cow, and the Norwegian Cowboy sings songs you don’t want to admit you like a the Tavern Lounge.
Sunday, April 12th, Mark Kreitzer performs at the Carleton Concert Hall, and then there’s, of course, Politics and a Pint, Northern Roots Session, and Quiz Night, all at the Contented Cow.
If you listened to KYMN this morning, there was a young, family band made up of 5 siblings called “Breakthrough”, who will be performing on April 11 at the Northfield Armory. The concert is free and open to the public.
