Start Your Weekend with a Taste of Northfield

Yes, it’s the 5th Annual Taste of Northfield.  This year there’ll be will two days of food and fun, Thursday, June 17th, and Friday, June 18th, 4 to 10 p.m., right in the heart of our community…Bridge Square, in historic, scenic, authentic Downtown Northfield.

Thursday, June 17th (day one of the Taste), it’s Anna Balfany, 4 p.m., Carey Langer, 4:15 p.m., Northfield Community Band, 6 p.m., the James-Younger Gang Bank Raid Re-enactment, and a Street Dance with Over and Back…all on the Showmobile, along with Silent and Live Auctions (both culminating at 7:30 p.m.).   Also in downtown, Joe Carey, 8 to 11 p.m., Tavern Lounge and Toaster Fork at the Contented Cow.

Friday, June 18th (day two of the Taste), it’s Anna Balfany, 4 p.m., NAG Mexican Folkloric Dance Ensemble, 4:30 to 5:00 p.m., Potluck and the Hot Dishes, 5:00 to 5:45 p.m., The Lost Boyz Crew (breakdancers), 5:45 to 6:30 p.m., The Bratlanders, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., the RCAs, 8:00 to 10:00 p.m., and the big Raffle Drawing at 9 p.m.  

Also in downtown, Tim Freeland, 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., Butler’s Steak & Ale, The Phantom Toolbooth, 7:30 p.m., Northfield Arts Guild Theater, Alison Rae, 8 to 11 p.m., Tavern Lounge, and Sir Isaac Newton’s Royal Funk Orchestra, 8 p.m., Contented Cow.

Saturday, June 19th, it’s Pleasure Invasion, 5 p.m., Contented Cow, Wendy Russell, 6 p.m., Butler’s Steak & Ale, The Phantom Toolbooth, 7:30 p.m., Northfield Arts Guild Theater, Jeff Ray, 8 to 11 p.m., Tavern Lounge, and Dime Store Watch, 8 p.m., Contented Cow.

Sunday, it’s Politics & a Pint, 6 p.m., Northern Roots Session, 7 p.m., Quiz Night, 8 p.m., all at the Contented Cow.

  1. The tornado warnings slowed us down, but when the lightning struck, the police department had to close us down. As the thunder rumbles in the background, it seems like it was probably a wise call.

    However, we’ll be back tomorrow (Friday) night. See you in downtown Northfield for sunny skies and Taste of Northfield.
