Northfield’s Transit Corridor: Restoring our Connections, Exploring our Possibilities

On Tuesday, October 26th, local community leaders will meet to discuss possibilities for the development of Northfield’s Transit Corridor including express bus and potential passenger rail service between Northfield and the Twin Cities.  The gathering will take place from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. in Great Hall on the Carleton College campus.

This town hall style meeting will feature presentations by Rep. David Bly, Rice County Commissioner Galen Malecha, and City Council Member Erica Zweifel on transit projects already underway in southeastern Minnesota, regional interest in lifting the moratorium on the Dan Patch Rail Corridor Study, the success of the Northfield Metro Express bus, and options for restoring Northfield’s historic transit connection to the metro area.

Please join us for this important discussion. With local support we can bring the benefits of regional transit to Northfield!

This meeting is organized by the Northfield-Metro Corridor Committee of the Northfield Grass Roots Transit Initiative in association with Carleton College, St. Olaf College and The Northfield Downtown Development Corporation.
