The NDDC continues to move forward with the City of Northfield on the downtown parking management study. We’ve held stakeholder meetings with three of the groups and we anticipate meetings with three more stakeholder groups in upcoming weeks.

The groups that have met so far are building owners, bicycle commuters, and pedestrian commuters. The ideas that they shared with us can be found on the Parking Management for Downtown Northfield,MN website. You can also offer ideas, ask questions, and share comments on the website.

The groups’ ideas including suggestions in the areas of education initiatives, physical projects, and process improvements. The ideas have been primarily focused on the downtown, many were at the gateways to downtown, but a number of the ideas were located throughout the Northfield community.

It will be interesting to hear the trending topics in upcoming stakeholder meetings. We’re confident that the ultimate recommendations will provide depth and width for the City Council.
