The James-Younger Gang was defeated…and will be defeated, again and again, this weekend…in Downtown Northfield. Remembering, and re-enacting, the heroic efforts of the citizens of Northfield, particularly Carleton College, City of Northfield, Congregational Church, and 1st National Bank Treasurer Joseph Lee Heywood, on that September 7th, 1876 day, is the basis of the weekend-long event. Defeat of Jesse James Days includes everything from an art fair to a tractor pull, but this is Music City, Minnesota, and so there’ll be a whole lot of bands in the pubs too.
