Occasional Nordic Music Fest Continues…in Downtown Northfield, MN

FourFabulousFinnishFemalesOver the past several years, a few local Nordic music fans have been luring touring musicians from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden to Northfield for some very special performances.  There’s another such event this Saturday night.  Kardemimmit, a Finnish folk music group of four young women who sing and play the kantele (national instrument of Finland), will be performing at the Contented Cow.

Friday, September 13th: Sweet Jazz, 5:00 p.m., Contented Cow; Opening Reception – Mapping the Planets in Silk and Sound, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Flaten Art Museum on the St. Olaf College campus; Opening Reception – Build Up, Build On, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Northfield Arts Guild Galleries; You Knew Me When, 8:00 p.m., Tavern Lounge; and The Loose Ends TBC, 8:00 p.m., Contented Cow.

Saturday, September 14th: Riverwalk Market Fair, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Bridge Square; Kardemimmit, 7:00 p.m., Contented Cow; and Jeff Ray, 8:00 p.m., Tavern Lounge.

Sunday, September 15th: Wake-Robin, 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., Bittersweet Cafe; and Quiz Night, 8:00 p.m., Contented Cow.
