First Friday Art Night – June 7th

It’s another jam-packed schedule for First Fridays in Northfield – join us for a fun evening of art and community!

1-9pm                             Drop-in watercolor painting demonstrations with Kathy Miller

You can find Kathy in her studio at 105 E. 5th St. (Lampe Law building, next to municipal parking lot).  Check out her work on her website, too!

5-7pm                             Artists on Main Street kickoff celebration @ Northfield Arts Guild – 304 Division St. (parking lot behind building)

Free and open to the public – light refreshments provided!  Come and meet the artists and learn about their projects that will be popping up around Downtown this summer/fall.

6:30-8:00pm               What does the Fox Say? “Slow Slow Quick Quick!” @ Northfield Dance Academy – 640 Water St.

Enjoy learning how to Foxtrot with instructor Brian Sostek!  Email northfielddance@gmail.com to register – $40 for couples, $20 for singles

7:30-10pm                   Mary Cutrufello Band @ Imminent Brewing – 519 Division St.

Cutrufello is hailed as a Texas honky-tonk heroine, a fiery Midwestern roots-rocker and a powerhouse acoustic performer.

8-10pm                          The Provisional @ the Contented Cow – 302 Division St. B

The Provisional is a Celtic rock duo consisting of Minneapolis-St. Paul musicians Tony Dennison and Brian Barrett.  Meshing styles of rock, punk, Irish rock and even a little Christian rock, The Provisional puts forth a unique style of music.

8-11pm                          Ben Aaron @ the Tavern Lounge – 212 Division St.

Born in 1987, Ben Aaron has been playing the guitar since the age of ten. He takes influences from the Folk Revival, Country Blues, and the New Americana music that’s sweeping the nation.

8-11pm                         The Chad Johnson Project @ Reunion – 501 Division St.

One of the most promising country crossroads artists in the upper Midwest, The Chad Johnson Project is the very definition of country rock. Blending country, rock, soul and blues to build a sound that is familiar yet completely his own.

8:30-11:30pm            Jason Paulson @ Froggy Bottoms Lily PADio – 307 Water St.

Jason Paulson is not your average country artist. He trades the glitz and gloss of contemporary country radio for honest storytelling. You may know him from his regionally popular band Grayson.

Also be sure to visit these ongoing Downtown art displays!
