Who sets the stage for downtown debate? Do citizens trust what they read in the paper or online, or what they hear on the radio? How do media that accept ads from downtown business owners then go about covering those businesses?
To learn more, come to “Covering Downtown: How Local Media Will Help to Shape Northfield in a New Century,” the regular monthly meeting sponsored by the NDDC. As always, the event is the first Tuesday of the month (Feb. 1) from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in the lower-level conference room of the Archer House.
Our guests will include Rob Brown, a board member of Northfield Citizens Online (www.northfield.org); Devlyn Brooks, managing editor of the Northfield News and the Faribault Daily News; and Ned Newberg, general manager of KYMN Radio.
Coffee and treats are served. The public is welcome. Questions are expected. These monthly issues forums routinely are drawing upwards of 50 people to discuss and debate issues important to our community.
