Downtown Northfield will be hopping (or crawling) tonight with artists, art lovers and lovers that may be inspired to artististry.
ArtOnWater Gallery (217 South Water Street) is featuring the work of regional textile artists with “Fiber: It’s Not Just for Breakfast Anymore.” The reception, and your evening, begins at 5 pm.
ArtOrg (200 South Division Street) is closing the financially successful show of Minnesota artist John Berkey, perhaps best known for his widely distributed “Star Wars” pieces. ArtOrg’s print studio (314 South Division Street) will be giving demonstrations of various techniques on its assorted presses.
The Northfield Arts Guild (304 South Division Street) focuses on Minnesota’s rural life with “The Farm Show”. The exhibition, organized by Stephanie Henriksen and David Kamis includes work by Northfield artists Dorothy Divers, Fred Hagstrom, Henriksen, Kamis and Sharol Nau, as well as work by artists from around the region.
All of these organizations are receiving the public from 7 to 9 pm, although some organizations have extended hours. The NDDC urges you to make an evening of it and to be sure to visit some of downtown’s fine eating and drinking establishments before and after the Crawl.
