Artswirl Begins (at least the planning)

Artswirl, Northfield’s annual celebration of the arts, will be enriching our community again this year. Pictured at the very first organizing meeting are NAG Executive Director Rebecca Bazan, Artswirl Founder and Coordinator Jill Enestvedt, and NDDC Executive Director Ross Currier.

This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever. The festival has been lengthened by one week to include the Vintage Band Festival. Artswirl will open on Crazy Daze (July 27th) with vintage band music and a street dance and conclude with studio tours on August 13th. Special twists to this swirl include the Bridge Chamber Music Festival, a repeat of the casual Art Crawl, a local Klub Krawl, Film events and a special Dance performance on the second weekend.

Now all we need are volunteers and money (what else is new?). In fact, we have opportunities for folks interested in participating in the studio tours, fundraising, publicity, hosting, signage and discipline specifc programming. If you’re interested, please contact one of the people pictured above.
