There’s a lot of live music happenin’ this weekend in Downtown Northfield.
It all starts off (Friday) with The Occasional Jazz Quartet, from 5 to 7 pm, at the Contented Cow. Kim Bloom is at the HideAway from 7 to 9 pm. Jud’s New Harmony is at the Contented Cow starting at 8:30 pm. Finally, Jeff Ray (pictured), called “a rising musician” by the Reader Weekly (Duluth, MN), is playing at the Tavern Lounge.
Saturday night, the live music offerings continue in Downtown Northfield. Kim Bloom is at the HideAway, Sprucetop Review is at the Contented Cow and Just Us performs at the Tavern Lounge.
There’s other stuff at other places too. Of course, there’s the Rock-n-Roll Revival at the Northfield Middle School, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown at the Arts Guild Theater, the opening of the Sandy Winters show at the Flaten Art Museum at St. Olaf College, a reception for artist Michael Kimball at Grezzo Gallery, and the Cannon Valley Regional Orchestra at Bethel Lutheran Church. Check the Northfield Entertainment Guide for more details.
However, what most impressed me about what’s going on in Northfield this weekend is the thriving live music scene… in Downtown.
