As usual, there’s a lot going on in downtown Northfield this weekend. I’m going to abuse my great power by giving a big plug to brother bassman Joel Cooper.
Joel, holding down the low end for such local groups as Jellystone Yogi and the Prairie Creek Band, is playing with Alisa Leonard and Bo Aylin at The Contented Cow. That’s tonight, Thursday, July 17th.
Mark Mraz is playing at the Tavern Lounge (riverside of The Archer House), Holes is at the Arts Guild Theater, 7:30 pm, and, of course, ChARTdonnay Thursday, from 5 to 9 pm, at ArtOnWater Gallery.
Friday night, Holes continues at the Arts Guild Theater, Kevin Stanke is at the Tavern Lounge. Saturday, there’s a Beatles Cover Show, featuring Daniel Lohmann and Feedback Frenzy at The Key, 7 to 11 pm, Holes continues, Jeff Thompson is at the Tavern Lounge, and Phil Berbig & John Edel at at the Contented Cow.
Finally, on Sunday night, it’s Northfield’s native art-form, Politics and a Pint at the Contented Cow, followed by the Northern Roots Session at 7:30 pm.
