Much More than St. Patrick…this Weekend in Downtown Northfield

Okay, not to take anything away from the guy who allegedly chased the “snakes” out of Ireland (and maybe gave St. Brigid an early career boost), and certainly not to under-appreciate Jim Bohnhoff in ecclesiastical green (dressed in that garb, he often is distributing candy after all), but there’s some really cool things going on this weekend (and Saturday is, in fact, St. Patrick’s Day) in downtown Northfield.

Friday, March 16th: Carey Langer, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Contented Cow; Matthew Griswold, 8:00 to 11:30 p.m., Tavern Lounge; Alison Rae, 8:00 to 10:30 p.m., Contented Cow; Karaoke, 9:00 p.m., Rueb’N’Stein; and Whiskey Trick at Froggy Bottoms.

Saturday, March 17th: Wake-Robin, 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., Bittersweet; St. Patrick’s Day Parade, 2:00 p.m., Starts in North Water Street Parking Lot; Chance Meeting, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Contented Cow; Northfield Historical Society Ball, 6:00 p.m., Great Hall on the Carleton College campus; Aleka, 7:00 p.m., Northfield Arts Guild Theater; Jeff Ray, 8:00 to 11:30 p.m., Tavern Lounge; The Mad Ripple and Matt Arthur & the Bratlanders; 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., Contented Cow; D J Music, 9:00 p.m., Rueb’N’Stein; and St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at Froggy Bottoms.

Sunday, March 18th: Library Beach Party, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Northfield Public Library; Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m, Contented Cow; Politics and a Pint, 6:00 p.m., Contented Cow; and Quiz Night, 8:00 p.m., Contented Cow.
