It was 1962, the Russians were in Cuba, the U. S. was training South Vietnamese pilots, James Meredith was registering at the University of Mississippi, Rachel Carson was releasing “Silent Spring”,”The Beverly Hillbillies” was on television, Bob Dylan was singing folks music, John Kennedy was promising a moon landing, Richard Nixon was announcing the end of his political career, and, at the Marquee Jazz Club in London, the Rolling Stones were playing their first gig. This Saturday night, over a dozen Minnesota musicians celebrate those bad boys of Rock and Roll by performing their music at the Contented Cow.
