“Awesome” Treasures to Be Revealed Wednesday Evening

PrinceOfNorwayInBridgeSquare_NorthfieldHistoricalSocietyMany of you are aware that the City of Northfield is moving forward with what I have been calling a “Bridge Square design review”.  The official title is “Concepts for a Future Bridge Square“.

The kick-off of the project is a public open house, Wednesday, October 23rd, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the Riverview Conference Room of the Archer House River Inn, 212 Division Street, Northfield, MN.

As part of the preparation for the open house, Hayes Scriven of the Northfield Historical Society and St. Olaf College intern Marcia Klopf, having been digging through the archives of photographs of Bridge Square.

Let me assure you, these photographs alone are worth the (free) admission to the public open house.  As one participant in the preparations said, “Hayes, these photos are AWESOME”.
