Yeah, ya gotta ’bout week. Next Wednesday is Christmas. That gives you seven days of shopping left. Fortunately, we’ve got Minnesota’s finest pedestrian-friendly shopping district right here in downtown Northfield.
Me, I start with books. So, it’s Monkey See, Monkey Read. For those who don’t like to read, it’s Echo Used DVDs. Of course, quality clothing is always appreciated. On to The Rare Pair, Fashion Fair, Ragstock, Willie’s Shoes, Pink Posh Boutique, Anna’s Closet, The Bag Lady, The Gear ReSource, and Larson’s Printing.
Oh, and sporting goods. Of course, there’s Champion Sports, Mike’s Bikes, and Fit to be Tri’d. There’re things for the home. Featuring Bierman’s Home Furnishing, Rooms by Tagg 2, The Measuring Cup, Eco Gardens, Nest Midwest, Secret Attic, and the Used A Bit Shoppe.
Broadly speaking, it’s the arts and crafts movement. It includes the Arts Guild Gallery, Studio Elements, Sketchy Artist, Northfield Yarn, and Eclectic Goat. And, most broadly, gifts. The Historical Society Shop, Aquatic Pets, Monarch Garden, Jenkins Jewelry, Paper Petalum, The Local Joint, and swag.
When in doubt, go with food. The many offerings include Northfield Olive Oils and Vinegars, Cocoa Bean, Quality Bakery, Cakewalk, and Just Food. Oh, and the Northfield Municipal Liquor Store for those adult gifts.
So, don’t wait for Santa to show up and help you with your list. Come on down(town) in Northfield, MN and pedestrian around our historic, scenic, and authentic shopping district. And have yourself some happy holiday shopping.
