History Hullabaloo in Downtown Northfield, MN

NationalHistoryDay_MinnesotaHistoricalSocietyAs part of National History Day 2014, there will be a History Day Hullabaloo at the Northfield Public Library this Saturday.  A History Hullabaloo is a research open house for 6th grade students to conduct primary and secondary research with the guidance of library and St. Olaf and Carleton College staffs.  Seems like a perfect Northfield event: our excellent public schools and exceptional private colleges working together to explore our fascinating history in our beloved Carnegie Library.

Friday, January 10th: Occasional Jazz, 5:00 p.m., Contented Cow; Opening Reception: Assemblance of a Whole, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Flaten Art Museum on the St. Olaf College campus; Recital: Artaria Quartet, 7:00 p.m., Urness Recital Hall on the St. Olaf College campus; Alison Rae, 8:00 p.m., Tavern Lounge; Room for Gray, 9:00 p.m., Froggy Bottoms River Pub, and Avians of Autonomy, 11:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Contented Cow.

Saturday, January 11th: History Day Hullabaloo, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Northfield Public Library; Relativity, 8:00 p.m., Tavern Lounge; Reggae Night, 8:00 p.m., Contented Cow; and The Counterfactuals Album Release Show, 8:30 p.m., Upstairs Rueb.

Sunday, January 12th: Recital: Artaria Quartet, 3:15 p.m., Contented Cow; and Quiz Night, 8:00 p.m., Contented Cow.
